Parish has a leading Robotics program that encourages students in all grade levels to apply the lessons of science, technology and engineering to solve challenges in creative, enriching and fun ways.
Parish's award winning Robotics program was established in 2009 by a core group of visionary and entrepreneurial freshmen and sophomores. In two short years, driven by student interest, passionate parents and supportive teachers, the Robotics program grew to span all grades - PreK - 12th. This comprehensive program is:
- offered to PreK - 4th grade students through ParishEXTEND with opportunities to participate in age-appropriate robotics classes.
- embedded as part of the 3rd grade STEM block.
- embedded a part of the Middle School enrichment program.
- available to Upper School students as a science elective.
Parish’s Robotics program is a leader at the city and state level, promoting, competing, placing and winning in competitions such as Dallas BEST™, Texas BEST™, FIRST®LEGO® League (FLL), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Starting in the 2013-14 school year, Upper School students will compete in the NASA Great Moonbuggy Race®
Our goal through Parish Robotics is to inspire students to excel in science, technology and engineering and cultivate critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills as it fosters self-confidence and innovation.
