Basketball Boys

Parish Boys’ Basketball started off the week with an exciting game against Bishop Dunne during Senior Night on Tuesday, February 20.  Kadon Lewis ‘18 hit a game winning shot at the buzzer bringing the final score to 50-47. This win also secured the fourth place spot in the district and propelled the team into the TAPPS 6A Super Regionals in College Station March 1 & 2. The first playoff game for the boys was against Houston St. Thomas on Friday, February 23. Lewis  led the team with 28 points, and Parish secured the win with a final score of 50-44.  The team played the next day Saturday, February 24, in the Regional Finals versus San Antonio Antonian.  This was a hard fought game that ended in dramatic fashion with Lewis hitting another game winning shot to send the Panthers to the State Tournament for the first time in school history. The final score was 70-69 with Lewis scoring 21 points and Jalen Tot ‘20 scoring 20.  This was obviously a big moment for the program and the boys are excited to get the opportunity to bring a state championship back to Parish.  The State Semi-Finals is March 1 at 6:00 p.m. at University High School in Waco.  The team will play Houston St. Pius.  If the boys win this game, they will play in the State Championship game the next day at West High School at 8:00 p.m.
