It was a festive Halloween Sing Along and Costume Parade on the Hillcrest campus last week. Students in PreK – 2nd grades showed off their favorite characters as they marched from the classroom to the gym where they sang six songs for parents.
“It takes about six weeks to put together a concert. The kids really worked hard to make it spooky this year,” said Riley King, Lower School Music.
PreK, Kindergarten and Primer performed “This is Halloween” and “We are out to Scare You.” The students also put their own lyrics to music.
1st and 2nd graders performed “Halloween Song” and “This is Halloween” from “The Nightmare before Christmas.”
The Hillcrest Choir, made up of students from Primer - 2nd grades, got into the spooky spirit as well with the songs “In the Hall of Mountain King” and “Halloween Hand Jive.”
Parents and students had a great time at the sing along. The Halloween fun is over, but this lively bunch will stay in harmony.
“Now we’re getting ramped up for our holiday concerts in December,” said Riley.
“The concerts will be lengthier with each group performing four to five songs.”
