The 2nd grade class bid farewell to the Hillcrest Campus on Wednesday, May 20 during the annual Fly Up ceremony and caravan. Parents decorated cars for the caravan that traveled from Hillcrest to Midway, with the 2nd grade students arriving together by bus.
Parish Lower School students attend school at the Hillcrest campus from PreK through 2nd grade, then move to the Midway campus for 3rd-12th grades.
Young Hillcrest students lined the sidewalk leading out, cheering and waving goodbye to the "big kids" on campus as they made their way to the bus. Pete Panther led the caravan of parents and students down Spring Valley in a classic car and arrived to the Midway campus to another cheering crowd. Current 3rd and 4th grade students, teachers and school administrators lined the walkway into the doors at 4101 Sigma welcoming the newest class to the upper campus.
The 2nd grade class and their families then attended a special chapel service in the Godwin Chapel officially welcoming them to Midway. 3rd grade students passed each 2nd grade student a t-shirt in what closely resembled our blue shirt ceremony for juniors and seniors in the Upper School.
