Computer-Aided Design: 3D Computer Graphics Studio
The courses offered are open to upper school students and are currently trimester in length. Students who continue to be interested in 3D modeling and animation may continue their education by taking more advanced courses and working on independent animation projects. Students learn to use a professional 3D Modeling and Animation program to explore:
>>> 3D Modeling & Animation: Students learn to create objects in 3D space. This involves instruction in character, architectural and abstract design and materials application that ranges from abstract, cartoonish to photorealistic images/models.
>>> Architectural Design: Fundamentals of interior and exterior design are discussed and explored. Structural design and visualization is the primary focus.
>>> Character Animation & Visual FX: Animations that range from character animation (think Finding Nemo) to physics simulations are explored. Proper character rigging and advanced modeling is emphasized. Other special effects techniques such as blue/green screen FX, voice synching, etc. are introduced. Short movies/animations are also created.
>>> Independent CG Project: Students work on a pre-approved CG project.
