The May rush continued in the Parish Universe this week. Enjoy…
During Thursday Eucharist, Midway students were treated to – well – a treat! Bishop James M. Stanton of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas led the final all school service of the year. Your child(ren) were engaged, respectful and listened intently to his message – one we could all stand to hear now and again. He said we should never give up on life; never give in to peer pressure, and never just get by. Give everything your all. Great words to live by!
In the classroom tons ‘n’ tons of fun stuff was going on. Sixth grade science classes made clouds in a bottle (you’ll have to ask them about EXACTLY how they did it). Fifth graders made a class quilt and ALL learned how to sew, and pre-k students created an oceanscape out of paper after visiting the Dallas Aquarium. WHEW!!
Never to be outdone by the younger set, Upper School students had a ball themselves. Seniors were stoked for a luncheon thrown in their honor and about their “official” Alumni status (Yes- they’re ALL on track to graduate in a few weeks!) AND Upper School year-end awards were handed out yesterday. Here’s a full list of honorees. Congratulations!

So much for all that talk about P.E., health and wellness being phased out of schools. That’s not the case around here for sure!
First and 2nd graders were just plain “whacky” this week in P.E., making it ALL fun and games!
Field Day was a hoot this morning, as 3rd through 6th graders took part in some serious competition. And to take the excitement to a whole other level, the Dodgeball Championships were held in the Midway Gym immediately following the event.
A huge shout out is also in order to the 8th graders for making Field Day EVEN MORE FUN for the participants.
The health and wellness activities trickled over to our Upper School as well with the Spring Classic football game. Can we get a drum roll please??? And the 2008 Spring Classic champions are… the juniors! Congrats, guys!
Isn’t it great to be a part of such an active, fun community? Catch ya back here next week!
