Lots ’n’ lots of activities and visitors made this week fly! Enjoy…
We got the week started right with a big ol’ party. Sunday, we turned out in droves to the annual Spring Picnic to welcome our new families to this awesome community. Thank you so much for helping our newest members to feel at home so quickly!
Also helping out with some transition anxiety were our ever enthusiastic third graders. They played host to the second graders in the Midway gym to pump up their enthusiasm for their move to Midway in the fall. Next year’s Upper Elementary had a BIG TIME playing games, painting faces and, well, just havin’ fun!
Entertainment was the main focus of this week’s Middle School choir performance as well. In some more cross-campus action, about 25 kids belted out international, fun and traditional tunes in The Fig’s sanctuary. The inspiring concert, complete with instruments, made for a show that still has people talking (in a good way, of course).
And, on a more serious, academic note, a special National Honor Society induction chapel was held Tuesday morning. The Gloria Hoffman Snyder Chapter welcomed 41 new members who were selected for showing outstanding understanding of and aptitude for Wisdom, Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. Congratulations to these exemplary Upper School students.
Finally, congrats to Alex Henderson who yesterday won the 200-meters at the TAPPS North Regional Class 5A track meet. He was also the anchor of the second-place mile relay team whose points helped boost the Panthers to a fourth place Regional finish. GO BLUE!

Grandparents, parents and students took the School by storm! Third through 12th graders brought their grandparents or a special friend to school yesterday, squiring them around their stomping grounds. And pre-k through second graders got their shot at it this morning.
Our students showed off everything from their artwork, teachers, homework assignments, lockers, friends, classrooms and cafeteria to their favorite playground equipment to their guests.
Pre-k II students perhaps pulled off the show stopper of the last two days, however. They have formed a band (yes, a real one) and jammed out for their guests. The band has been formed as part of the curriculum to take an in-depth look at music, to work on fine motor skills and to utilize some advanced vocabulary and math. Plus, it is pretty darn cute!
Thank you so much for your cooperation, patience and help in making this such a fun, meaningful, community building event.
Have a great three-day weekend, and we’ll see ya back here on Tuesday!
