  Around Campus

The Parish Panthers have had it goin' on this week! Enjoy...

Congratulations to our varisty girls' and boys' golf teams for making the record books. For the first time in School history, BOTH teams will compete in Regionals! Show your Panther Pride at an 8 a.m. shotgun start at Ridgeview Ranch, Monday and Tuesday. Go us!

Speaking of community spirit, let's all get out to the Cultural Blast this afternoon. Our kids and parents have been prepping for this MAJOR PRODUCTION all week! The entertainment, exhibits and the food court action (oh, the food...) will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Midway Campus. This is a great way to celebrate our diversity, and the kids and parent volunteers have put so, so much work into making this event exceptional. Show up. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

Seventh grade students toured a Spanish city in Andrew Jennings' classroom this week. How? They made pretty great replicas of different portions of a typical Spanish city out of cardboard, paper, glue and props. Then, they had to follow directions to get from place to place. We don't know about you, but today's world language classes are a far cry from our school days' lessons. Plus, we're creating great travellers and tour guides!

Travel must have been in the air this week around here. First graders took a hop to the Majestic Theater, Wednesday, to see the musical Henry and Mudge. For those of you who are out of the loop on what is cool to 6- and 7-year-olds, Henry and Mudge books are ALL THE RAGE! The kids even read them while they were waiting for the performance to start!

  Hot Topic

We know you will have slept by Monday (hopefully), but we wanted to give you a gentle reminder and a quick rundown of Monday's Legacy Event.

This wrap-up event for the year is an opportunity for us to get beyond the basics and to gain a better understanding of each other. Here's the plan. Students, faculty and staff (grades 1 through 12) will meet in their Legacy groups on the Midway Campus from about 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. During this time, we'll be making a Legacy Book that will reflect the interests of the group.

What does this mean for you? We are asking that your child(ren) bring a picture that can be a PERMANENT part of our Legacy history. The picture should represent some sort of great story. Please remember to send a photo to school Monday so that we won't miss out on your story.

Thank you for helping us create an even tighter community that knows and cares for one another!

Have a great weekend!
