To end Day 3 of their Washington D.C. trip, eighth-graders visited the home of George Washington off the Potomac River.
A scenic hilltop home with a working blacksmith hammering out tools, cattle, sheep and ducks quacking overhead, gave a real sense of the farming culture in northern Virginia more than 200 years ago.
Parish also continued its tradition of laying a fresh wreath on the Memorial Tomb of George Washington.
A film on the Revolutionary War after dinner on Mount Vernon was complete with special effects snow floating in the theater air.
