CREDIT!!!!!
You may earn up
to 35 points extra credit each trimester.
Turn in all extra credit at least 1 week before the exam
(Trimesters 1 & 3) or the end of the trimester (Trimester 2). Late extra credit will not be accepted. In order to receive the full available
points, all instructions must be followed.
Options:
- Write a letter (15pts.)
- Select a current environmental/conservation
topic or other biological issue that interests you.
- Research this area, using several
sources. Make sure to include on a
separate sheet of paper the references you consulted.
- Construct a letter to an elected
representative or public official expressing your opinion/concern on the
subject.
- Turn in a copy of your letter and a stamped,
addressed envelope. It WILL be
sent.
- Attend a public meeting/seminar/speaker
(20pts.)
- You may elect to attend a meeting of each
organization that is concerned with conservation/environmental issues or
some other meeting related to the field of biology.
- You should take complete notes of the meeting
you attend.
- You may elect to attend meetings of
governmental bodies if they are going to consider biology related
topics.
- Turn in the complete notes along with the
information on what meeting you attended.
- Viewing Biology Related Science Television
Programs (10pts each)
- Type up the title of the show and at least
one full page (1” margins, Times New Roman, 12 pt. Font, single or
double spaced only) about the show.
- Do some research and write up at least ½ page
about the show from a second source (5 pts each)
- Read a Biology related science book (20 pts)
- Read the book and type up a summary (1”
margins, Times New Roman, 12 pt. Font, single or double spaced only).
- Summary must be at least 1 page in length.
- Biology Related Field Trip (20 pts)
- You may elect to go to a museum, exhibition,
etc.
- Type up at least one full page (1”
margins, Times New Roman, 12 pt. Font, single or double spaced only) about what you saw and learned.
- Turn in ticket stub or evidence you were
there with paper.
