Welcome to General Music Class! This trimester, students will learn many new
things about music that build on the basic knowledge gained in previous music
classes. This information sheet provides
a summary of what is expected in General Music Class.
GOALS
OBJECTIVES
REQUIREMENTS
Daily participation is required in General Music Class.
On-campus performances are required when held during the semester. These performances will usually occur at
All-School Eucharist and parents are always invited to attend. Students
who are in school on a performance day will be expected to perform at
performance events. Unexcused
absences will have a major impact on a student’s grade.
CLASSROOM RULES
1. No talking when Mr. Whitmore is talking.
2. Show respect toward others.
3. Follow directions. Be on time to class.
4. Raise your hand if you have a question.
5. Always strive to do your best.
GRADING
Weekly/Daily Participation – 50% of your grade
At the beginning of each week, every student starts with a letter grade of “A.” Each time throughout the week you choose not to adhere to the aforementioned rules and directions, your grade will drop one letter grade. I assign a grade at the conclusion of each week that reflects your participation for that week. In essence, your daily/weekly participation grade is like receiving a test every time you come to music class.
Homework

Any written
homework given in class or outside of class will be included here.
Assessments
