Note about Dream
Home: (for Honors Class)
Parents,
This should be a project that your child can complete on his/her own. We worked on the dimensions and conversions in class and the students were supposed to get cleared by me if they demonstrated that they understood the project. If not, send them to me early Monday morning and I will help them.
Recommendations:
Building materials: I would prefer that the students can manipulate the materials they choose to use – foam board requires the use of a razor blade or other sharp knife and wood requires the use of a table saw. These are tools I’d prefer not to have them use.
Students can use ANY material except construction paper; so, balsa wood (can be cut with scissors), pretzels, Twizzlers, macaroni, etc are materials they can handle.
Guidelines:
We reviewed the guidelines carefully in class. Again, your child should be capable of completing this project independently. You are welcome to provide time management assistance and decorating tips (if you’d like).
If you see that your child is confused, please encourage them to come see me. Parents are not always aware of the requirements we discuss in class.
Thanks! Open your garage door and let them design away!
