On Monday, Nov. 3, Parish Singers and Bel Canto Upper School choirs sang a program of American folk songs, patriotic songs and classical repertoire that included Mozart’s Laudate Dominum at The Point, Center for Arts and Education.

The Point is the fine arts facility for residents of C. C. Young retirement center in North Dallas.  “The residents loved your choirs. They were so impressed with the talents of the children.  They have told everyone about Kyle, Sabrina and Carter and have never had a high school group with the students so talented. The added touch with the student going out into the audience was brilliant! They are already asking if I have you all booked for another visit,” said Felecia Burns, Assistant Director to The Point, Center for Arts and Education.

“The choir members were not expecting me to send them out into the audience,” said Gary Gordon, Director of Upper School Music. When I heard the residents and the choir introducing themselves and everyone singing ‘America, the Beautiful’ with all their heart, I thought this is truly a great country – a place where the mature can have their rightful place of honor while singing side-by-side those just at the advent of adulthood.”
