Fifth and Sixth Grade Students Sing at TPSMEA Honor Choir Weekend Nov 2006
Fifth and Sixth grade students represented Parish Episcopal School at the Texas Private Schools Music Educators Association (TPSMEA) Children’s Honor Choir weekend on November 10 and 11. Parish sent two representatives after their choir director, Mr. Gregory Whitmore, selected them in an audition process. The two day affair included rehearsals and an honor choir concert with guest clinician Stephen Roddy, the founding director of the Houston Children’s Chorus. “The fine singing level that these students have risen to is worthy of their selection to the TPSMEA Honor Choir,” said Mr. Whitmore. “Students who participate in TPSEMA Honor Choir carry with them quality choral experiences that they will remember for a lifetime.”
Middle School students at Parish will have further opportunities to prepare musical selections for TPSMEA in a solo and ensemble festival to be held in February.
