sgot_100606On October 6, 2006, the Parish Fine Arts Committee hosted The Singing Girls of Texas in a concert for Parish middle school and upper school students in the Midway Campus atrium.  The concert included a variety of literature ranging from the classics, spirituals, and patriotic celebrations to a medley of Broadway music.

The Singing Girls of Texas is a new ensemble consisting of girls from grades 8 through 12 at the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts. They are creating a reputation across Texas and the United States with their outstanding vocal blend, variety of repertoire, passion for music, and excellent presentation. They are led by their artistic director, Mark L. Stamper.

The Singing Girls of Texas is striving to perform as a nationally recognized professional girls' choir, and to train young musicians to become among the best in the world. They are proudly associated with The Texas Boys Choir, their brother chorus and the Academy of Fine Arts where all these students receive excellent training in the arts, as well as their academic studies.
