Fifth and Sixth Choir Garners Top Ranking May 21, 2007
Congratulations to the Parish fifth- and sixth-grade choir, who received a 1st rating (and a large trophy) recently at the Sandy Lake Choir Festival in Carrollton, Texas. The group was not competing against other choirs, but for an individual rating based upon members’ overall performance. They were assessed a rating of I, II, or III by three respected choir directors in the field. Their overall score was based on the average of the three scores.
In addition to the rating they received, they also received comments from the judges, which were helpful for the choir to hear.
Middle School choir teacher and director Greg Whitmore said he is very proud of this choir, which began with six students at the beginning of the year and has grown to 18 students and continues to build momentum.
If you see any of the following students, please congratulate them: Daniel Acosta, Will Anderson, Leonel Arellano, Bailey Baker, Kate Berry, Drew Carey, Sarah Champ, Averi Holben, Paige Hughes, Anna Jones, Amanda Kadesky, Kylie Leeper, William Long, Ashlyn Mansfield, Christopher Ponners, Sadie Rinker, Oliver Sherren, or Kendall Worden.
