Midway Choirs Shine on Episcopal School Sunday Oct 2006

On October 1, 2006, 93 singers from Parish Singers, Middle School Choir and Upper Elementary Choir represented The Parish Episcopal School at the 9 a.m. worship service of our founding parish, The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration.

Episcopal School Sunday is a national celebration of Episcopal Schools.

"It was so wonderful to have the opportunity to share with our Transfiguration family the individual prowess of each Midway choral ensemble and the strength of our combined choirs," said Gary Gordon, director of Parish Singers.  "When Transfiguration music director Joel Martinson mentioned to me that we set a new record for the number of singers in the choir loft I was astounded" Gordon continued.

The Middle School Choir is blossoming under the direction of our new Middle School general music and choral director, Greg Whitmore. "Greg and I both are the choice beneficiaries of the solid foundation the children receive under the direction of Dianne Muller (pre-k-k), Stephanie Scott (1st-2nd) and Linda Zrubek; founder of the choral program over 20 years ago," Gordon said.  "There is no greater reward than to witness the look of awe on a child's face when the realization occurs that singing is a journey throughout the Parish experience and they get to be a part of evolution of excellence.".
