Dia des los Muertos Day of the Dead November 2006
Continuing a PES tradition, the Mexican Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) was celebrated with an altar (ofrenda) decorated by Parish students. In the folk art traditions of Mexico, third, fourth, and fifth grade students made sugar skulls, papel picado (cut paper banners), ceramic figuras (figures of skeletons), skeleton prints, and paper marigolds. We believe that the event is one that builds a bridge to another culture through personal participation and understanding.
