An unexpected homecoming Aug 27, 2008
With Parish playing ESD for the first time, the Panthers also will get to open their third varsity football season at home. With a large crowd expected, the game was moved to Parish’s Wheat Field at Panther Stadium from ESD. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Friday with the gates opening at 6:30 p.m. With the switch to a home game from a road game, fans are asked to wear Red instead of White.

Parish will play at Kemp on Sept. 5 and return home Sept. 12 against Hillcrest High School. Next year’s game against ESD will be moved to its stadium.


Volleyball spiking through early season

The Lady Panthers’ volleyball team plays in the Frisco Tournament this weekend after starting 2008 like they left off in ’07. Parish (14-4) is off to a fast start after reaching the TAPPS state tournament last season in November.

Parish picked up its first win in three years over neighborhood rival ESD on Aug. 21. The Panthers rallied in the last two sets to defeat ESD in five games.  Parish then defeated Prestonwood Christian on Tuesday after beating Carrollton Christian at home Monday. The Panthers’ strength continues to be overall team play with strong defense and passing.

After playing in Frisco, Parish’s next home game is 7 p.m. Tuesday in Panther Gym against Garland Christian.


New Boys’ Varsity Basketball Coach on Board
August 2008
We are very pleased to announce the selection of Dorian Harris as the Head Coach of the Boys' Varsity Basketball Team. Coach Harris comes to Parish from the Covenant School in Dallas, where the team has made it to the Final Four in TAPPS the past two years. He has also coached one of the Heroes Foundation summer teams, traveling the country, winning five tournaments in 2008. more...
